Details We designed and developed a system that enables educators to offer learners the opportunity to
practice retrieving Japanese sentence patterns called “bunkei” through task-based learning modules. When an educator registers pre-devised tasks with the system, the system employs collaborative filtering to recommend tasks that align with learners' individual preferences and subsequently with a level of difficulty appropriate to the learning stage of learners. Evaluations conducted with educators and learners demonstrated that both user groups were able to operate the system. The evaluation also indicated that the system may facilitate learners' ability to practice extracting bunkei(s) in various situations and contexts, potentially enhancing their situational awareness and motivation to learn.
