Title Outlook of the Japanese anime industry: opportunities and limitations

Details The year 2013 was epochal for the Japanese animation industry: Cool Japan Fund, Hayao Miyazaki, and Sazaesan. The year featured significant events in the business and culture of Japanese anime that represent the opportunities and limitations in the twenty-first century. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to present an overview of the Japanese anime industry in terms of business and culture. After a brief review of the anime industry performance in 2013, this paper presents a discussion of the opportunities and limitations of the Japanese animation industry.
