Details This paper describes a project to improve reading instruction in required reading courses at a private university in Japan. Beginning with a needs analysis that involved the administration of surveys to students and teachers, best practices were identified, and then an instructional DVD was produced and distributed to teachers responsible for the reading classes. Some of the teachers themselves were included on the DVD.
