概要 This paper studies how autonomous small groups running kaizen activities should be managed, so as to obtain not only their ordinal intangible effects but also coherent overall effects on the tangible measures like costs, quality, lead-times, etc. from a number of kaizen tasks conducted by the distributed kaizen teams. First, possible options are formulated for the organizational structure of the small groups, the budget system for the kaizen tasks, and the performance evaluation system of the groups. Then, communications among the kaizen teams are modeled as algorithmic negotiation processes. Finally, an agent-based simulation model is developed to investigate how these institutional design elements on kaizen team management affect the whole performance of the kaizen process. Numerical examples of the simulation are also provided to show how the approach works.
