概要	This is a descriptive study, employing a conversation analysis framework, of instances of misunderstanding－and their repair－in married couples. Nine married couples (some of them the same nationality and others in international marriages) were asked to record dinnertime conversations over the course of a week and then submit them to the researchers. Misunderstandings were seen broadly as A) disagreements (or, in their strong form, arguments), or B) "mistaken" interpretations of an interlocutor's utterances, as determined by subsequent or prior discourse. Self-initiated or other-initiated repair was described and analyzed along with direct or indirect styles of repair.
