概要	This research analyzes the effect of input price discrimination in the vertically-related market where a downstream firm shares its cost-saving technology with its competitor through technology licensing. First, it shows that whether input price discrimination by the upstream monopolist is banned or not, the licensor chooses the royalty contract. Second, banning input price discrimination improves social welfare if and only if the licensor’s technical advantage is maintained after technology licensing. Third, banning input price discrimination encourages the downstream firms’ technology investment in the long run. In summary, if the firm having advanced technology is more likely to develop further cost-saving technology, banning input price discrimination improves social welfare both in the short run and in the long run.
