概要 | The purpose of this article is twofold: to understand the creators' cognitive processes in content (manga) development and to explore the process with an emphasis on the dyadic relationship between mangaka and editor. The first part of this article focuses particularly on the initial stage of the manga creation process: from ideation to storyboard. The analytical framework adopted in this article, the 'Geneplore model' of creative cognition, is introduced and a case of well-known female author of Japanese shojo manga (girls' comics) is analysed using the model.
In the second part of the article, the creation process of Japanese manga with an emphasis on the dyadic relationship between mangaka and editors in ideation is explored. Although this paper is preliminary in nature, it is suggested that the creation necessitates trust in the dyadic relationship, which, in turn, facilitates the cycle of the geneplore process. |
