Details | In recent years, a new role of buy-side analysts is expected as they are more actively engaging with investee companies. In this paper, we will discuss these analysts who regard corporate managers as steward-type managers and make an effort in engagements based on mutual understanding and trust, instead of regarding them as agent-type manager as in the case of conventional agency theory. Moreover, we will discuss the requirements and skill sets necessary for such analysts, and advocate a new analyst image that aims to build a “mutual stewardship relationship” with corporate management as “the future of analysts”. |
